Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Tahdhīb al Afkār is the trilingual (English, Urdu, Arabic) biannual research journal of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan which publishes papers in the field of Islamic Studies and Arabic having the features of creativeness and enquiry; however, it encourages the papers dealing with the Socio-Religious issues.

Guidelines for Composing and Formatting of Papers

• The Principal Author should provide his email address and his contact number alongwith his name, designation and official address.
• The title of paper should be catchy and attractive. Titles of Urdu and Arabic papers should be provided in English too.
• At the begening, a half paged abstract should be provided and later on, Key Words (four to six) should be given.
• The paper should be inventive and academically significant. The analysis of its potential and social impacts should also be provided.
• Conclusion and Recommendations should be mentioned at the end of the paper.
• Paper should be easily lucid and comprehensible.
• References should be entered at the end of the paper in a series in APA/MLA style. (The command of Alt+Ctrl+D may be pressed where the endnote is to be given).
• Papers in Urdu and Arabic should be composed in MS Word. Jameel Noori Nastaleeq font should be adopted for Urdu papers while Arabic paper should be typed in Traditional Arabic Font.
• The size of the paper should be between 10-20 pages.

Clarifications for Publication

• The Journal Tahdhīb al Afkār assumes that every paper presented for publication is not published in any other journal before nor submitted for publication elsewhere. Similarly, the journal believes that each paper is the self creative academic work of the author/s. If republication or plagiarism proves in paper at any stage, the consequences will have to be faced by the author/s, exclusively.
• The journal reserves the right of necessary changes/ modifications to bring the papers upto a standard level.
• Received papers will be viewed in accordance with the policy of the journal by the managing editors and consequently will be sent to reviewers for evaluation. Papers will be considered for publication upon the favorable review reports.
• Publication of any paper in the journal does not mean that editorial board agrees with it wholly or partially.
• A complimentary copy of published journal will be sent to the author/s.
