An analytical and chronological overview of the manuscript “al-Istif a̅’ libaya̅n Ma ̒ a̅ni̅ al-Shifa̅” about biography of Prophet Muḥammad (S.A.W)

Abstract

Manuscripts are considered as an authentic source of the life of Holy Prophet Muḥammad (S.A.W). The early Muslim historians recorded the life of the Holy Prophet Muḥammad (S.A.W) in this manner. While the later chronologist benefitted these manuscripts. Whenever someone talks about the life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) in the manuscript “al-Istif a̅’ libaya̅n Ma ̒ a̅ni̅ al-Shifa̅” which is Manus scripted in 935 (A.H) has a discriminate manuscript in all over the world. The first version of this manuscript is available in Turkey, second in Egypt while third is accessible in Dublin (Ireland).The author of this manuscript Shamsuddi̅n Muḥammad al-Dalji̅ (d. 947 A.H) is a renowned religious figure in Egypt, who is consider to be a great leading scholar of Arabic language. This manuscript has a treasure knowledge about social, political and religious life of the Holy Prophet Muḥammad (S.A.W). Besides this manuscript has left a great impact on our lives and it is one of our assets in the field of recorded life of the Holy Prophet Muḥammad (S.A.W). Now the researcher intended to translate, analysis and contextualized this specific manuscript in order to deliver it to common man. Thus, it will create a prodigious impact in the field of Fiqh-ul- Seerah.
