Abstract

Allah has associated the conservation of life with food and thus created an inclination in human mind towards it. Man by nature likes to eat clean and healthy food. That is the reason that one of the reasons of his economic struggle is the attainment of food. That is why, Sharῑ‘a  has stressed for the man to strive for such food which is ḥalal and ṭayyib i.e. pure and clean internally as well as externally. The elements of hygiene and food safety should be maintained to ensure its external purity because thousands of people die every year due to unhygienic food intake. Likewise, its internal purity may be attained by its being ḥalal; because, such food has the potential to guarantee healthy well-being. When a society will succeed to maintain a harmonization between Sharῑ‘a’s order and human behavior as a result food security will be achieved. In this research paper food safety and quality control in briefly discussed in Islamic perspective.
